LW Robbins Associates President Lynn Edmonds recently received two industry awards recognizing her outstanding achievements in fundraising: the Fundraising Success Magazine Lifetime Achievement Award and the New England Direct Marketing Association (NEDMA) Direct Marketer of the Year Award.
Both awards pay tribute to her many accomplishments and her deep commitment to the nonprofit and direct marketing communities during her 35-plus year career. The Fundraising Success Lifetime Achievement Award was announced in the magazine’s February 2010 issue, and the NEDMA Direct Marketer of the Year Award was presented at the NEDMA Annual Conference at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts on May 12.
In its cover story, Fundraising Success lauds Lynn as well-known for “her passion, dedication and unabashed love of her craft.”
In his introductory remarks at the NEDMA Annual Conference, 2009 Direct Marketer of the Year Bob Cargill of Cargill Creative described Lynn as “a fearless leader and a tireless networker, a direct marketing dynamo and a fundraising virtuoso, a good friend and loyal colleague to so many of us both here in this room tonight and throughout the industry.”
Other industry leaders also praised Lynn as follows:
Ed Marino, President, W.A. Wilde remarked, “We are most proud of having Lynn’s accomplishments recognized by her industry and by her peers. Equally, many of us at Wilde get to see Lynn’s leadership inside of the LW Robbins organization. And we can say without a doubt that the leadership Lynn exhibits externally, is only matched by the leadership she demonstrates internally with her team at Robbins. She is committed to her industry and to her team, and it is apparent. Both the direct marketing industry and our company are fortunate to have Lynn Edmonds in our worlds.”
Karen Kansala, development director, St. Labre Indian School said, “Lynn Edmonds loves what she does and it shows. She's never too busy to stop and answer a question -- whether it be from a fund raising novice or someone with experience. Lynn is a ‘big picture’ kind of person who understands how even the tiniest of details carry great importance. She is well organized and knows how to surround herself with the best talent possible, encouraging teamwork and results-oriented solutions. Lynn always has a good word to say about colleagues and competitors alike.”
Lynn Edmonds is a nationally recognized industry leader who has developed innovative fundraising programs for scores of nonprofit organizations during her career. She joined LW Robbins Associates in 1999 as Executive Vice President and became President in 2001. Under her leadership, LW Robbins has provided results-driven strategic development and analysis, and creative and production services to more than 50 nonprofit clients.
For more than three decades, Lynn and her teams have worked with organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Special Olympics, MAP International, The UN Refugee Agency, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Coast Guard Foundation, American Diabetes Association, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Catholic Relief Services, Consumers Union, Covenant House, National Audubon Society, Native American Rights Fund, Washington National Cathedral and more than 40 regional food banks.
Lynn’s direction on behalf of many of these clients has yielded several Direct Marketing Association ECHO Awards, and nearly 100 national and local awards.
LW Robbins was recently notified that it has won fifteen 2010 NEDMA Creative Awards for Excellence, which will be formally announced at the annual awards banquet in Boston on June 15. LW Robbins’ awards honor large, national organizations and regional groups in the international relief, social services and health sectors, demonstrating the agency’s ability to apply its fundraising expertise across a wide range of missions and donor constituencies.

These include better cultivation of JDRF's higher value donors, and refined segmentation strategies to target the best donors to maximize net revenue. Robbins will also assist JDRF with the integration of e-mail and direct mail to boost overall campaign results.
The first campaign produced by the new JDRF-Robbins partnership is a donor renewal mailing which will launch in July.
About Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
JDRF is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Type 1 diabetes is a disease which strikes suddenly and requires multiple injections of insulin daily or a continuous infusion of insulin through a pump. Insulin, however, is not a cure for diabetes, nor does it prevent its eventual and devastating complications which may include kidney failure, blindness, heart disease, stroke, and amputation.
Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $1.16 billion to diabetes research, including more than $137 million in FY2007. In FY2007, the Foundation funded 700 centers, grants and fellowships in 20 countries.
